Just a quick note to brag about Ellexi's promotion to the 9th grade. Woodland's had a promotion ceremony last this that honored Ellexi's 8th grade class. During her years at Woodland, she maintained at least a 3.5 gpa to earn the "President's Award For Educational Excellence."
Now she has a few days off before heading right into summer school. She is getting health and gym out of the way so she can get into a few other classes during the school year. |

Motorcycling...for me it is a hobby, therapy, an obsession, a sport, a vacation and a place for me to find serenity. My current trusty steed's, a 1994 BMW K75s, odometer just reached 100,000 miles. How did it get there? One mile at a time. I know, it sounds like a cliche....it is. Just so that the record is straight, I bought the bike used in 1997 with 9,200 miles and over the years a buddy or two have logged a few miles on the fun loving beemer from the dark side.
One riding buddy claims the BMW riders tend to watch the odometer spin. I may be guilty of this some, especially as I take this time to reflect as my bike reached this milestone. However, my riding is not about logging miles on the bike, it is about the ride or the place to be. The unfortunate machine carries me to and from work, not a fun chore here in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. It also carried me home to my mother's retirement party a few years back. The bike has put it's tires in 35 states and 5 of Canada's provinces. It has seen both coasts and the Grand Canyon. And on more than one occassion, it has been the proverbial couch for therapy. And a few times, it was the rescue vehicle. Once or twice, it needed to be rescued. |
